Mr. Vasif Talibov, Chairman of the Supreme Assembly of Nakhchivan Autonomous Republic paid an official visit to the Autonomous Republic of Adjara on 5 May 2017.
H.E. Mr. Chairman was welcomed by Mr. Lasha Komaxidze, Minister of Agriculture of the Autonomous Republic of Adjara, Mr. Dursun Hasanov, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Azerbaijan to the Republic of Georgia, Mr. Reshad Ismayilov, Consul General of the Republic of Azerbaijan in Batumi city and other officials in Batumi International Airport.
Following the arrival, Mr. Vasif Talibov met with Mr. Zurab Pataradze, Chairman of the Government of the Autonomous Republic of Adjara.
Thanking to his Georgian counterpart for kind invitation, high consideration and warm hospitality, H.E. Mr. Chairman expressed his pleasure of being in Batumi again.
Remembering the establishment of comprehensive cooperation 2012 between Nakhchivan Autonomous Republic and the Autonomous Republic of Adjara within the framework of the cooperation between two countries, Mr. Vasif Talibov highly appreciated the current level of Nakhchivan-Adjara relations and all efforts of both sides for further enhancing mutual ties of friendship and fraternity between the two autonomous states.
Both sides proudly made remarks on sincere relations built between two nations and reciprocal visits paid for invariably contributing to further deepen these relations in the future.
H.E. Mr. Chairman hailed the contributions of both sides to conduct cooperation in the fields of trade, economy, education and healthcare between the two autonomous states.
Expressing his assurance for further fostering of mutual and friendly cooperation between the two sides Mr. Vasif Talibov extended his gratitude for warm welcome and generous hospitality.
Chairman of the Government of the Autonomous Republic of Adjara expressed his satisfaction over strategic partnership built on centuries-old background of bilateral relations of friendship and fraternity with Azerbaijan.
Georgian Chairman noted the willingness of his government to conduct cooperation with Nakhchivan Autonomous Republic in terms of organizing student exchange, tutorial training and childcare programs, as well as providing association between treatment and rehabilitation centers in the two countries.
During the meeting, the sides had exchange of views on creating new opportunities for development of mutual ties, opening direct charter flights between Nakhchivan and Batumi cities, enhancing mutually beneficial cooperation in agriculture, improving bilateral relations in tourism, establishing logistic centers and increase in tourist flow, as well as other mutually interesting issues.
On his official visit to the Autonomous Republic of Adjara, Mr. Vasif Talibov accepted kind invitation of PhD. Merab Xalvashi, Rector of Batumi State University after Shota Rustaveli on 6 May 2017.
Sincerely welcoming the honorable guest, Mr. Xalvashi gave brief information about history, activity and capability of the university.
Expressing noteworthy traditions of Batumi State University, H.E. Mr. Chairman noted the extreme significance of contribution of cooperation in education to enhancement of mutual ties between the two autonomous states.
It was noted that student teacher and scientific information exchange programs organized between Nakhchivan Autonomous Republic and the Autonomous Republic of Adjara make remarkable contributions to relations of friendship and cooperation in humanitarian sphere in both countries.
H.E. Mr. Chairman expressed his gratitude to the professional staff of the university for all efforts to deepen Azerbaijan-Georgia relations in education and science.
At the end, Mr. Vasif Talibov viewed “Haydar Aliyev-Azerbaijani Studies Center” and "Adjara-Nakhchivan Autonomous Republic" Friendship Auditorium at Batumi State University.
