On 27 February 2019, Mr. Vasif Talibov Chairman of the Supreme Assembly of the Autonomous Republic of Nakhchivan met with the delegation headed by Gholam Reza Soleimani, General Director of Maku Free Trade and Industry Zone of the Islamic Republic of Iran.

Sincerely welcoming the guests, Mr. Vasif Talibov expressed his satisfaction over meeting them in the autonomous republic and wished best successes to the head of staff Gholam Reza Soleimani for his new appointment.

Hailing the importance of good relations between the presidents of the two countries in terms of the development of Azerbaijan-Iran ties, Chairman of the Supreme Assembly noted the economic and cultural relations between Nakhchivan Autonomous Republic with West and East Azerbaijan Provinces and appreciated the role of customs checkpoints and increasing in arrival and departure rates as a result of this coooperation.

Gholam Reza Soleimani conveyed the greetings of Morteza Bank,  Secretary of the Supreme Council of Iran's Free Trade, Industrial and Special Economic Zones and Mohammad Mehdi Shahriari, Governor of West Azerbaijan Province to Chairman of the Supreme Assembly of Nakhchivan Autonomous Republic.

Noting the activities of Maku Free Trade and Industry Zone, General Director focused on bilateral ties, as well as the development of Nakhchivan Autonomous Republic and made remarks on the future perspectives of the coperation.

Chairman of the Supreme Assembly thanked for the greetings of Secretary of the Supreme Council of Iran's Free Trade and Governor of West Azerbaijan Province and asked for conveying his good wishes to Morteza Bank and Mohammad Mehdi Shahriari.

During the meeting, the sides exchanged views on future projects to be implemented.
